Food matching Tokay and Muscat

Hello, i am having a bit of a Muscat and Tokay evening and have come up with a few food matches to go with Rutherglen Muscat and Tokay. i was wondering if anyone else out there has any suggestions? espcially looking for unusual combinations.

thanks

Re: Day of reckoning-Petaluma

haven't been impressed with Petaluma for 2 to 3 years now, Tiers is amazing, but for $120 it should be. tried the Croser 06 twice in the last weeks in blind tastings againest its peers and both times it scored lowly across all tasters, same with the new NV at one event (only showed in one event). 07...

Re: Organic Wines

If you slap "Organic" on your wine label some people will buy it regardless of what is in it. True, but some people also buy Brands regardless of whats in it too eg Penfolds, Marlborough..., i've always liked Jasper Hills approach of not putting organic on the label, because everybody els...

Leeuwin Estate lost its sparkle?

I was talking to a friend about Leeuwin the other day, we thought that other than the Art Chardonnay, they seem to have lost their lustre over the last few years. Other MR wineries have seemed to catch up and are offering equal if not better wines at a lower price point eg Fraser Gallop. What do you...

98 Perrier Jouet Grand Brut, excellent champange, had it alongside a 99 Belle Epoque (spelling!!) and it was hands down the better wine. throughly impressed with how this was developing and only around $100.

from what i can remember, thats all customers used it for (opening old bottles). also the average for the refills was 100 shots, for $20 a cylinder it worked out to be 20 cents a bottle. funny how i can remember all that but the name was the hardest.

the best way i've seen, but can not remember the name of, is a gas removal system. its a small device with a needle that you insert through the cork and press to let the gas in. the gas pushes out the cork smoothly and has no affect on the wine. great product, i used to sell it at Grape indro so Mic...

even rating it a third growth is degrading wines such as St henri, dead arm etc, wines with history and pedigree to age. i would put the Ra at fifth until its proven it worth after 15 vintages. although this might be a little bias as i've gone off pretty much all ben Glaetzer (Michel Roland of Baros...

I work in retail, DM's, i think we had the Penfolds on special for about a month, so i don't expect it to be on again for at least a month. problem is pretty much nothing over $20 is selling in wine, so putting Pennies on special negates any profit after advertising, as you have to cut the margins t...
