When I first started out, I randomly selected wines. Later I used the JH Wine Companion as a guide. Now I go on a combination of sources when selecting wine. Also I never buy more than four of each wine. For everyday drinking, my local bottle shop normally has about 6 Reds on tasting at any one time...

Most cellar doors have a friendly pet of some kind.
Strangest thing Ive seen when arriving at a CD. Was a 1/2 meter brown snake on a porch at a Clare Valley cellar door.
That got a few people jumping.

In the Poll, you might have given another option. Spending the $500 on a wine other than penfolds!

I would never buy any of their wines.

For your information: They still had some Grange for sale at CD a few weeks ago.

A few months ago I was tail-gated by this silver SUV, anyway I slowed down and let him/her pass. On the Back of their tailgate were the letters "Say Yes to Cork" - I would like it to Say NO - to tail-gating. I do remember my last TCA wine, it was a 2002 Cab from the Clare Valey. It was bou...

I tried this wine at their cellar door recently. When moving on to the other wines. I found some of the aromatics lingered in the glass from the Zinfandel. I recommend that anyone tasting their range ask for a new glass when moving on from the Zinfandel.
