I'm pretty sure the comte and lentils are there purely as a palate cleanser & serve their function accordingly Other than the spanner crab custard & the signature confit of tuna, that looks to be an entirely different menu from when I was there several months ago. There was no beef at my sit...

Good pick on the Deutz BDB - YUM!

Are you doing the tasting as a head to head comparisson?

Looking forward to some notes on these wines!

For the pinots - I'd recommend having the pair at the same price bracket. I see the 06 Ata Rangi has been suggested which is a great wine, but perhaps the Pegasus Bay 06 Pinot for the NZ wine paired up against Bay of Fires. I know you specified Tassie Pinot - but could be worth examining some of the...

Great notes Andrew - I didn't taste as many wines as you did, but managed to get a bit of a different selection as I was focussing primarily on the nz wines. I needed to play catch up from all the wines I have been missing since moving to Aus. I do have to say that I did not have the same experience...

Both Rochford Yarra Valley & Macedon Ranges hold up well as value for money. I haven't tried the '07 Paringa Peninsula, if it's at a tasting I shall give it a go, but wont be rushing out to buy a bottle in the meantime. I still struggle with the concept of bargain Pinot Noir as it's still a few ...

Would definitely agree on the Rochford & Williams Crossing. The Rochford held up very well against a round of $40+ pinots tasted blind & have purchased several since (and need to stock up on a few more). I don't reckon the Paringa delivers value for money - I'd spend my $25 on Riesling if th...

Yeah the Benfield and Delamere is a beautiful wine - I picked up a bottle of the 06 when I was doing the Martinborough rounds at the end of December. Far too much to choose from in that region & far too expensive to send back home so had to stick with bottle buys to make up a mixed case. I defin...

Yeah some wines were gone within 10 minutes of the doors opening - but for the most part I managed to try what I wanted to. Having a super handy revised list made things easier - but after a few dissapointments I had to move onto the stickies far too early just to ensure I got to try them. The Chard...
