I for one look at it it in a couple of ways, Mount Mary, through many years, has given us products of outstanding quality for a sem-premium price. To look for another wine/winery that delivers on the price and quality in Australia is not easy. Don't get me wrong there is a great deal of wineries tha...

One of those truly memorable moments happened to me the day after The Advertiser did an article about Halliday rating the Old Adam on par with the other two stalwarts. A lady rang my local bottle shop whilst I was there. The conversation went along these lines.... "Do you have any of that Bremm...

I keep on hearing voices. One says, "wine". The other, "you're here for a good time not a long time". Who am I to deny the mysterious voices of my own inner universe. So onwards and upwards for some boozy retail therapy, but with a credit card paid off and those voices egging me ...

Don't you love picking up something at auction that is interesting and cost you all of your back pocket. Good tasting notes once again on the Pontensac. I agree that it would compare to a '96 389 or even a '91, but have you tried current vintage 389? My thoughts were that it was very one dimensional...

The glutten that I am, I have finally decided to crack a bottle that really does not fit in my Vintec. Anyone else sharing with me? Hell no! This ones all mine. I was asked to taste some wine from a producer I had never heard of before. Two wines from the Wandering Piano stable in Marlborough N.Z. If anyone can give me some background info on the winery, winemaker etc. that would be fan-bloody-tastic. Any way here is what I thought...... 06 Sauvignon Blanc ...

Neville is a fantastic wine maker. In1996 Chain of Pond's was recognised as the best new winery in Australia by Vogue Entertaining. Whilst their 99 Morning Star Chardonnay was rated 16th in the top 100 wines of the world by U.S. Spectator. Both his Morning Star and Corkscrew Road Chardonnay's are hi...

Hi Seddo, christ, you have picked a doozie. Adelaide Hills-Ashton Hills for sure. Try Golding's stuff, hard to get but worth a look. Geoff Weaver's another, producing in an old world style. Nepenthe released the Good Doctor last year, pretty smart. See if you can get your hands on some Chain of Pond...

How about you give Murdock a whirl. One of my personal fav's. They released an interesting Spanish inspired blend recently. Whilst their Cabernet is outstanding. For something different try some Flint's of Coonawarra. Across the road from the Majella site. Boutique and interesting. Cheers, Wine Bloke.

I find that a polysterine box sealed is your best bet. Packed in the coolest place of your car. If you really want to get technical, air seal the box. Because the major effect would be change in air pressure. If too great may cause the bottles to either take in air, or express air ( if under cork ) ...

2004 Mitolo "Serpico" Cabernet Sauvignon

The colour is so dark and deep that it looks like motor oil. Clings to the side of the glass like it as well. Smelling it reminded of Christmas, with steamed plum and cherry christmas pudding steam rolling out of the glass. Should I add Christmas pudding on steriods. The mouthfill is thick, viscous ...
