Hey jeremy, that was one of my dumber posts last nite. commercial is a word i would describe wines without any real regional flavour profile and usually made in a generic kind of way. I still think value for money, the philip is a great wine and the 06 and 07 vintages are still this. I just thought ...

Mount Pleasant Phillip Shiraz 2007 Impulse decision to have wine with dinner resulted in this being acquired. I really want to recommend this, I really do, having liked most of the previous vintages. I can't. Ripe, alcoholic, sweet, finishes short. To it's credit it does have some silky tannins and...

St Hallett Old Block 1994 beautiful balance and ready to go, but the fruit is just starting to fade. Still has a great mouthfeel, and the tannins have softened to refined. Drink up, a good barossa shiraz.

Peter Lehmann Stonewell 2004 To be honest, this was not what i excepted, sure it had that great barossa malt choc berry nose, but the palate was weak, and a touch watery and even the last sip while it had gotten better, i'm not sure it has the structure to carry on? Ok, maybe i was a little pre determined in my pinot call, i thought a lot of the pinot i tasted had a very nice nose, lush style palate, and the structure, tanins were good, however I don't cellar pinot, and don't drink much of it, hence went to the tasting to try some. The chardy's as cuttlefish sa...

Sandalford reserve cabernet 2007

An absolute cracker from the west. Excellent Fruit balanced with a lush structured palate. This is an excellent young MR cabernet, well worth buying a few to cellar. Can't wait for some of the big gun MR reds from 2007 to roll out!

Cheers All
